paris day 2

please bear with me. this is now a travel journal for us, because i'm tired of going on vacations and not remembering what we did when. we started the day with fresh pain au chocolat and browsed the bastille sunday market right down the street. then we wandered through le marais (home to both the jewish quarter and gay district), passed the place des vosges, and stopped in for a french history refresher at the musée carnavalet. then we headed over to the 3rd arrondisement for some really rad vegan french food at le potager du marais; i had the seitan bourguignon and dave had the goulash with mushrooms and smoked tofu. after a little coffee to perk us up, we toured the centre pompidou (the national museum of modern art), where i was reminded i don't get cubism. we then strolled over to les halles and back through le marais to our apartment near the bastille for a simple dinner of scrambled eggs with basil, pain de levain (a sweet and nutty sourdough bread), camembert cheese, and a glass of burgundy wine. quelle bonne journée!
